Clean Cranberry Sauce

HealthyCranberrySauce2.jpg

Ingredients:

1 12 oz bag of fresh cranberries

1 medium orange juiced

1/2 tsp of orange zest

1/4 cup of honey or pure maple syrup

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1/4 tsp all spice

pinch of cloves

pinch of ground ginger

Directions:

Add cranberries, orange juice and honey to a medium sauce pot over medium high heat. Allow the ingredients to come to a boil then turn heat down to medium low heat. Add in orange zest and all the spices and stir to combine. Allow the mixture to simmer for 20ish minutes stirring occasionally. This will allow the cranberries to soften and break down. Once the the cranberries are soft mash them with a potato masher. How much you mash them is up to you. I like this to be on the smoother side so I mash until all the cranberries are no longer whole. Pour the sauce into a mason jar and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks
