Almond Butter

Ingredients:

1 lb bag of raw almonds*

 

Directions: 

Line a baking sheet with foil. Pour almonds onto the foil lined baking sheet and roast for 8 minutes at 425 degrees F. You must roast the almonds first in order to release the oils for them to blend into a smooth butter. If you don’t you will just have almond flour. Once roasted remove almonds from baking sheet and place into a high speed blender/food processor (I highly recommend a a ninja or a vitamix). Blend on medium speed for about 1-2 minutes and then scrape down the sides of the blender or food processor with a rubber spatula. Repeat this step until you yield a smooth creamy almond butter. I usually blend even for 1-2 minutes even after the almond butter is smooth.

Notes:

*Here’s a little hack for you... go to your baking section in your local grocery store and get your almonds from there. They are SO much cheaper since they don’t have anything fancy done to them.
